Amaravathi, July 26: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed party leaders to launch a 45 day door to door outreach campaign from Sunday to explain the coalition government’s welfare and development initiatives to the public.
Addressing a teleconference with senior party leaders and public representatives, Chandrababu Naidu said the coalition secured a historic mandate in the last Assembly elections with a 94 percent strike rate and around 57 percent vote share. He said the previous ruling party was reduced to 11 seats from 151 because of its policies.
The Chief Minister said the victory was the result of the combined efforts and election strategy of the TDP and its alliance partners. He added that the coalition government is taking decisions based on public opinion and focusing on welfare and development.
Naidu urged party leaders to work towards ensuring the victory of coalition candidates in the upcoming local body elections. He asked booth conveners, party committees and public representatives to remain accessible to the people and party workers while addressing public issues responsibly.
He said the party requires leaders who can solve problems and earn the trust of the people. Drawing a comparison with the election campaign, he asked leaders to once again visit every household and explain the government’s fulfilled promises and ongoing welfare schemes. He also directed them to clarify any doubts raised by the public.
The Chief Minister instructed ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and party workers at all levels to participate in the outreach programme. While expressing confidence about the coalition’s future electoral prospects, he cautioned leaders against actions that could affect public confidence.
Naidu also asked party leaders to highlight the government’s initiatives for youth welfare and explain how, according to the TDP, the policies of the previous government had affected young people.
He said public support cannot be sustained through money alone and stressed the need for continuous engagement with citizens. Naidu also accused the opposition of attempting to create divisions in society and urged party workers to counter such efforts by maintaining close contact with the public.
