Chandrababu Naidu Says Andhra Pradesh Sets Record with Largest DBT Scheme
Amaravati, July 11: TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday declared support to NDA presidential nominee Draupadi Murmu. In a press release, Chandrababu said that the TDP is committed to social justice by extending support to Murmu.
In the past, the TDP backed candidatures of K R Narayanan and APJ Abdul Kalam for president posts, G.M.C. Balayogi and Kinjarapu Yerran Naidu for Lok Sabha Speaker and union minister posts respectively, he recalled.
On the request of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah as told by YSRCP MLA Perni Nani to the media on Monday, the ruling Jagan party in Andhra Pradesh with 22 MPs and 151 MLAs had announced support to Draupadi. The TDP has 23 MLAs and 3 MPs.
Meanwhile, Murmu is visiting AP on Tuesday to meet YSRCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to thank him. She will be accompanied by senior BJP leaders.
