CM KCR Has No Treat For Teachers In TS: Uttam

Hyderabad, Sept.5 (Maxim News): TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has no concern for the teachers’ community in Telangana State.

Addressing a meeting at Miryalguda on the occasion of Teachers Day on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the State Government has failed to resolve the problems being faced by teachers across Telangana State. He said that the teachers have played an important role in the formation of Telangana State. But they did not get their due share under the TRS regime. He said that the teachers did not get a hike in their salaries ever since the formation of Telangana.

Uttam Kumar Reddy asked the State Government to resolve the pending issues of government teachers. “The State Government should increase the retirement age of teachers from 58 to 61 years. It should implement Service Rules in model schools, ensure ‘Equal Work and Equal Pay’ for contract teachers. The Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) should be abolished and the old pension scheme should be brought back,” he demanded.

The TPCC chief said it was highly unfortunate that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao never had an interaction with the teachers’ unions in the last six years to hear their grievances and solve them

Uttam Kumar Reddy also expressed concern over the condition of teachers working with private schools. He said almost all private teachers got no salary for the last six months due to Covid-19 situation. He said that the State Govt did nothing to help the private teachers who were denied salaries since April.

He said that the Congress party would always protect the interest of teachers irrespective of whether or not they are in power. He said that the previous Congress regimes held DSCs at frequent intervals to appoint new teachers and had established a mechanism to resolve their problems. He said it was unfortunate that not a single teacher has been recruited by the TRS regime. Instead, he said thousands of teachers’ posts were lost due to closure of over 4,000 schools in the last six years. (Maxim News)
