Congress Is An Ocean With Small Boats Like TRS Sunk In Its Bottom: Uttam

Huzurnagar, October 2 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and Nalgonda MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has strongly condemned the TRS party for distributing huge cash and liquor to lure voters of Huzurnagar constituency to seek their votes in the bye-elections to be held on October 21.

Addressing a series of meetings in different villages and thandas on Wednesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the ruling TRS has already sensed a humiliating defeat in Huzurnagar and therefore, its leaders have been trying all means to lure voters by way of distributing cash and liquor worth crores of rupees. Stating that the cash and liquor being distributed by TRS leaders was from the ill-gotten money they accumulated through corruption in different projects, he advised the voters to take whatever is being given to them, but vote for the Congress candidate Padmavathi Reddy on October 21.

However, he said that the use of cash, liquor or the misuse of police and official machinery would not help TRS in evading a certain defeat in Huzurnagar bye-elections. He asked people to question TRS leaders on non-fulfilment of promises of waiver of crop loans upto Rs. 1 lakh, 3 acres of land for Dalits, unemployment allowance for jobless youth and other failures.

Responding to the remarks of TRS Working President and Minister K. Tarakarama Rao calling Congress party a ‘sinking ship’, Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “Congress is not a ship, but an ocean and its bottom has a bulk of sunken tiny boats like TRS. Only rats desert a sinking ship while brave sailors fight with the situation to fill the holes. KTR neither understands philosophy nor politics. He cannot influence Huzurnagar voters with hollow words and obsolete slogans,” he said while adding that people understand the hollowness of claims being made by TRS leaders. He said TRS leaders visiting Makhdoom Bhavan with a begging bowl seeking CPI’s support was the first sign of their defeat. “Is it not strange that a party with 88 elected and over a dozen purchased MLAs was seeking the help from another party which did not win a single seat in last elections. This clearly shows that TRS was extremely weak in Huzurnagar and it was proving to be a dwarf before Congress party,” he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy thanked Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) for announcing its support for the Congress party in Huzurnagar bye-elections.

The TPCC Chief also slammed Chief Minister K. Chandraskhekhar Rao for not giving representation to Madiga community in his cabinet. He said Madigas constitute nearly 12% of State’s population. By denying a cabinet berth, KCR has insulted over 40 lakh Madiga population in the State. Contrary to this, he said KCR has given four cabinet berths to the community to which he belongs. He said KCR, KTR, Harish Rao and Errabelli Dayakar Rao belongs to the same community. Further, he said the posts of Rajya Sabha MP (Santosh Rao), Planning Commission Vice Chairman (Vinod Kumar) and other important positions in the State were being held by members of just one community while other communities and castes were being neglected. He said members of Madiga and other communities who were denied adequate representation must teach a lesson to TRS in Huzurnagar bye-elections.

Uttam Kumar Reddy reiterated that the TRS Government did not take up a single major development programme in Huzurnagar constituency. Stating that every bit of development activity was initiated by him as local MLA and also under the previous Congress regimes, he again challenged the TRS leaders for an open debate on the issue of development of Huzurnagar constituency.

Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy offered prayers in Jan Pahad Dargah. Later, he addressed meetings in Mahankali Gudem, Ravi Pahad, Shunya Pahad, Kalmat Thanda, Cheveru Thanda, Komatikunta, Hanumayyagudem, Nagireddygudem, Palakeedu, and other areas. DCC President Shankar Naik and other senior leaders also participated in the campaign. (Maxim News)
