Hyderabad, Sept 19 (Maxim News): Tension prevailed at a private farmhouse in Janwada on Saturday as Congress MPs and MLCs planned to visit the property to examine its land details, amid a heavy police deployment.
Chevella DCP Yogesh Goutham reached the farmhouse on Saturday morning as police were deployed around the premises. The proposed visit has triggered a fresh political dispute over the property’s ownership and its alleged association with BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR).
Farmhouse Owner Says Property Was Leased to KTR
Farmhouse owner Pradeep Reddy issued a video statement on Friday claiming that the property belongs to him. He said he purchased the four-acre property in 2019 and later leased it to KTR, whom he described as his childhood friend. Reddy also said the property had a clear title and that he was ready to provide documents to authorities if required.
Signboards placed near the farmhouse describe it as private property and warn against trespassing. Reddy has also said he would take legal action against anyone who enters the property without permission.
Congress MPs and MLCs, however, have alleged that the farmhouse is associated with KTR and planned to visit the site in a special bus from Praja Bhavan. Their visit was part of a broader exercise in which Congress representatives have been examining land details linked to prominent BRS leaders.
On Friday, the Congress representatives visited former minister T Harish Rao’s farmhouse in Siddipet. They checked land records with revenue officials and said the exercise was intended to bring the details into the public domain.
The Janwada visit has therefore become the latest flashpoint in the ongoing political dispute between the Congress and BRS over land holdings and property records in Telangana. The ownership question remains subject to the relevant property records and any official examination by authorities.
