I have been elected from the Nalgonda region seven times as MLA and MP. Your unwavering support for the Congress party has been instrumental in my electoral victories. This is the result of the Congress cadre’s hard work, sacrifices, and dedication. During my tenure as Nalgonda MP, I have facilitated significant development. Now, as the charge of Nalgonda seat, I consider it a challenge not only to win but also to secure the highest majority in Telangana and across India,” Uttam Kumar Reddy said amid thunderous applause from party workers.

He said that Nalgonda had achieved the highest membership of the Congress party, with over 4.5 lakh members across India. Similarly, Nalgonda will prove to be a seat won by the Congress party with the highest-ever majority.

Uttam Kumar Reddy accused the BJP Government of betraying the farmer’s community. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised in 2016 to double farmers’ income by 2022. He said that not only has the income failed to double, but when considering inflation, farmers’ income has decreased. He said the Modi Government has burdened farmers by imposing GST on agricultural equipment and input materials.

Questioning the credibility of BJP leaders campaigning in Telangana, especially Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he demanded clarification on the promised creation of 2 crore jobs annually. He criticized the Modi government’s policies, such as demonetization, flawed GST implementation, and the unplanned COVID-19 lockdown, which led to significant job losses.

The Congress leader said that the Modi Govt failed to honour the promises made in the AP Reorganization Act of establishing a Railway Coach Factory at Qazipet and a Steel Factory at Bayyaram, which could have created thousands of jobs for local youth. Similarly, He said that the promises of establishing a tribal university, a turmeric board, and other decisions have been pending for nine years. He slammed the Modi Govt for cancelling the ITIR (Information Technology Investment Region) project in Hyderabad, approved by the previous Congress-led UPA government, which could have generated approximately 50 lakh jobs. He said not a single poor family in Telangana received a house from the BJP Govt at the Centre.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said people would teach a fitting lesson to PM Modi and BJP in the coming Lok Sabha elections. He predicted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would become India’s next Prime Minister. He said the BRS party and KCR family had lost their relevance, and their political existence would be diminished after the Lok Sabha elections.
