CWC Calls Pahalgam Attack A Direct Assault On Republic; Slams BJP For ‘Exploiting’ Tragedy For Communal Polarisation
Delhi/Hyderabad, April 24 (Maxim News): The Congress Working Committee (CWC) has accused Pakistan of being the mastermind behind the Pahalgam terror attack.
The CWC on Thursday (April 24) passed a resolution condemning the attacks, saying that the terrorists deliberately targeted Hindus to incite religious sentiments. It also said that there was a security lapse in the incident and called for unity to confront such attacks.
The CWC said that this cowardly act and terrorist talk by Pakistan is a direct attack on the values of India. The party resolution said that Hindus are being targeted to incite emotions across the country.
Congress Senior Secretary KC Venugopal said that the Pahalgam Terror Attack is a testament to the catastrophic security failure and intelligence lapses.
He said that a comprehensive analysis of the intelligence failures and security lapses that led to such an attack in a Union Territory under the Union Home Ministry is imperative.
Amarnath yatra is about to begin soon. Lakhs of pilgrims will participate in the pilgrimage. The CWC said that the Centre should immediately consider their security as a national priority. The CWC has asked the Union Home Ministry to make tight security arrangements without any delay.
The CWC has resolved to take action with full sincerity, as the livelihood of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, along with the safety of pilgrims, depends on tourism. (Maxim News)
