Delhi Blast Case Planned Since 2023, Says Investigation

Hyderabad: Sensational details have emerged in the ongoing investigation into the Delhi blast case. Several national media outlets reported that the investigation found that the bomb attacks were planned in 2023. Authorities have identified the suicide bomber who died in the Delhi blast as Umar Nabi.
They have also detained several suspects linked to him. Meanwhile, officials said new information has surfaced during questioning and has widened the scope of the probe.
NIA probe finds long term preparation and key suspects
According to reports, one of the suspects, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, admitted in the NIA investigation that they had been preparing for attacks across the country for two years. He is said to have collected explosives and remote controls for this purpose.
He also admitted that he was given the responsibility of purchasing urea and ammonium nitrate. Official sources said Muzammil purchased 26 quintals of NPK fertilizer from Gurugram and Nuh in Haryana for Rs 3 lakh. They added that other electronic equipment was purchased from Faridabad. Officials said that Umar Nabi’s role was to use this fertilizer in explosives and procure other chemicals.
Funds, weapons and foreign links examined in Delhi blast case
The suspects in custody revealed that they arranged funds for the Delhi blasts conspiracy. They said the total amount collected was Rs 26 lakhs.
According to investigators, this money was given to Umar Nabi, who also added Rs 2 lakhs of his own. It is said that Umar and Muzammil argued over money at Alfalah University. Later, Muzammil gave a red EcoSport car to Umar. He also admitted that he bought an AK 47 rifle for Rs 6.5 lakhs. He told investigators that his handler’s name was Mansoor, while Umar’s handler was Hashim. Muzammil said both received orders from another person named Ibrahim.
Moreover, Muzammil, Adil and Muzaffar travelled to Turkey on the orders of Ukasa. Investigators said Ukasa has links with Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan. They also found that Muzammil and Ukasa spoke on Telegram. The investigation revealed that the group planned bomb blasts in different parts of the country. Meanwhile, officials said that 12 people were killed in a bomb blast near the Red Fort in Delhi.
