Hyderabad: Dr M Ramesh, IPS, assumed charge as the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, on December 30, 2025, marking a key leadership change in the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. A 2005 batch officer, Dr Ramesh succeeded Avinash Mohanty and formally took charge of the post on Monday. The appointment comes at a time when law and order, traffic safety, and public confidence remain central to policing priorities in the region.

Before his new posting, Dr Ramesh served as Inspector General of Police, Provisioning and Logistics. He also held full additional charge as IGP, Police Transport Organization. His experience in administrative and operational roles places him in charge of one of the state’s most sensitive and fast-growing policing jurisdictions. Meanwhile, the transition signals continuity in leadership while setting clear expectations for the coming period.

After assuming charge, the Cyberabad CP outlined his priorities for the police force. He said the foremost responsibility of the Cyberabad Police would be to uphold the rule of law. He also stressed impartial and fair treatment for all citizens. According to him, professionalism, transparency, and people-centric policing would guide all actions. Therefore, he underlined that maintaining law and order would remain the primary focus to ensure a safe and secure environment for the public.

Dr Ramesh also highlighted traffic management as a key area of concern. He directed officers to conduct regular drunk driving checks with diligence. Meanwhile, he referred to the upcoming New Year celebrations and issued clear guidelines to ensure incident-free and accident-free festivities across Cyberabad. He emphasised that proactive policing would help prevent untoward incidents during large public gatherings and celebrations.

Later, the Cyberabad CP encouraged police personnel to actively consider citizens’ feedback in daily policing activities. He said public cooperation and trust play an important role in effective law enforcement. Therefore, he called for responsive and accountable policing that reflects public needs and expectations. With this approach, the new commissioner signalled his intent to balance strict enforcement with community engagement.
