Internet/Hyderabad, April 21 (Maxim News): A 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook the North Eastern States today. The epicentre of the earthquake was Manipur on Tuesday morning. The earthquake also shook the states of Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning while everyone was sleeping, causing panic among the people and they ran out of their homes.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 5:59 am on Tuesday. Its intensity was recorded as 5.2 on the Richter scale. Scientists have identified the epicenter of the earthquake at a depth of 62 km in Kamjong district of Manipur. Local officials said that there has been no information about any loss of life or property due to the earthquake so far.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, local people are expressing concern over frequent earthquakes in the northeast. Authorities have reviewed the situation and alerted rescue teams. (Maxim News)
