Four Arrested with 45 Kg Ganja at Secunderabad Railway Station in Major Drug Bust
Hyderabad, July 5 (Maxim News): In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Railway Police at Secunderabad Railway Station arrested four individuals, including three women, for allegedly smuggling 45 kilograms of ganja. The operation highlights the growing vigilance of authorities at key transit points in Telangana.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bali Atish Pawar, Rohit Gadaji, Rajani Rohit, and Padma Ashok. According to police sources, the group had procured the ganja from Bhura and Ashish Kumar, both residents of Odisha and reportedly key players in a broader drug supply network.
Police said the suspects purchased the ganja at a low price in Odisha and intended to transport it to Maharashtra, where it could be sold at a much higher rate. The group was intercepted at Secunderabad railway station while waiting to board another train.
“We acted on specific intelligence inputs and conducted surveillance at the station. The suspects were apprehended with the contraband neatly packed and concealed,” said a Railway Police official.
Investigations revealed that this gang had been operating for some time, using the railway network to smuggle drugs between states. Efforts are currently underway to track down Bhura and Ashish Kumar, who are believed to be the main suppliers and are currently on the run.
The Railway Police have registered a case and are continuing their probe to uncover the full extent of the network.
