Fruit Vendor Arrested for Allegedly Raping Minor Girl in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old fruit vendor from Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Hyderabad’s KPHB. Police booked the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The accused, identified as Rehan, allegedly sold fruits in front of the victim’s house and is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting the Class VII student after luring her inside her home.

Police Register Case Under POCSO Act

According to the KPHB police, Rehan allegedly gained the girl’s trust over several months and would lure her into the house on the pretext of chocolates and biscuits before sexually assaulting her.

Police said he allegedly threatened the minor with consequences if she disclosed the incidents, leaving her too frightened to inform anyone.

Victim Informed Parents After Fresh Harassment

The victim reportedly remained silent due to fear until Rehan allegedly began harassing her again recently.

Unable to bear the trauma, she informed her parents, who immediately approached the KPHB police and lodged a complaint.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway.
