The action targets companies accused of presenting products in a way that may create incorrect perceptions about health benefits among consumers.

The companies that received notices include Emami Healthy & Tasty, Health Aid, Troovy, The Healthy Factory, Healthy Master, Healthy Choice, Plan B and Neuherbs.

FSSAI Flags Product Branding and Label Claims

According to FSSAI, some product names and marketing language could influence consumers by creating impressions that may not align with approved standards.

Among the companies highlighted, Emami Healthy  & Tasty was questioned over its trade name, which regulators said could potentially mislead buyers.

Plan B was also flagged because its products were promoted as plant based vegan products without obtaining prior approval for vegan food endorsement under FSSAI licensing requirements.

FSSAI further raised concerns over products sold by The Healthy Factory, including its “Zero Maida Whole Wheat Bread” and “Zero Maida Pizza Base”, stating that the claims could mislead consumers considering the ingredients used.

Neuherbs came under scrutiny for marketing products under the “True Vitamin” label, with regulators noting that the term is not recognised under existing FSSAI rules.

Troovy’s snack products carrying “healthy” descriptions were also questioned, with FSSAI indicating that such claims may not accurately reflect the overall ingredient composition.

Additionally, Healthy Master, Healthy Choice and Health Aid were flagged over branding and promotional language that could create misleading impressions regarding product health value.

FSSAI said the notices are aimed at ensuring transparent food labelling practices and preventing consumers from being influenced by unsupported health related claims.
