Mailardevpally Robbery Case | Hyderabad, July 7 (Maxim News): Mailardevpally Police have arrested three young men for their alleged involvement in a robbery case and recovered a stolen Vivo mobile phone, cash, and the scooter used in the offence. The arrests followed a detailed investigation using CCTV footage and technical surveillance.
The accused allegedly assaulted a woman, snatched her mobile phone and cash, and fled on a scooter after committing the robbery near Kanak Bakery in Kattedan on June 26.
According to police, the victim, Pooja Sathy, 36, operates a pan shop at APCO Colony in Mailardevpally. On June 26, she closed her shop at around 9.40 pm and started walking home.
When she reached near Kanak Bakery in Kattedan, three men arrived on an Activa scooter. Police said the trio assaulted her on the face and head before snatching her Vivo mobile phone and ₹4,500 in cash. They then escaped from the spot.
Based on her complaint, Mailardevpally Police registered a case under Section 309(6) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation.
Mailardevpally Robbery Case | CCTV Footage Helped Crack the Case
During the investigation, police examined CCTV footage from the area and used technical evidence to trace the suspects. Consequently, the investigation team apprehended all three accused on July 7.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammed Ghouse, 19, a Blue Dart driver from Kishanbagh; Vadla Chandu, 19, a plastering labourer from Budwel; and Athamaraj Vikas, 21, an employee of Apollo Pharmacy from Budwel.
Police recovered ₹1,200 in cash, one Vivo mobile phone belonging to the victim, and a navy blue Honda Activa scooter bearing temporary registration number TG07BD7980, which was allegedly used in the robbery.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of ACP Chandrayangutta Division A. Sudhakar.
Mailardevpally SHO Sathyanarayana, Detective Inspector Maqsood Ali, and the crime team conducted the investigation, collected technical evidence, arrested the accused, and recovered the stolen property.
Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
