Hyderabad, July 7 (Maxim News): The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has urged the Telangana government to withdraw its proposed plan to relocate the Gudimalkapur Vegetable and Flower Market to Moinabad, warning that the move would affect the livelihoods of more than 10,000 families dependent on the market.
Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin, Nampally MLA Mohammed Majid Hussain, and the President of the Gudimalkapur Vegetable and Flower Market Committee met Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju and submitted a representation seeking immediate intervention.
AIMIM Seeks Government Intervention
The delegation submitted the memorandum on the official letterhead of Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. They requested the state government to halt the proposed relocation, stating that shifting the market to Moinabad would severely impact thousands of traders, vendors, transport workers, and others who depend on the wholesale market for their livelihood.
According to the representation, the Gudimalkapur market serves as a major trading hub for vegetables and flowers in Hyderabad. Therefore, relocating it outside the city could create significant hardship for traders and consumers alike.

Owaisi Raises Issue With Agriculture Minister
Meanwhile, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi also spoke to Telangana Agriculture, Marketing and Cooperation Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and requested him to put the proposed relocation on hold.
He urged the minister to reconsider the decision, keeping in view the interests of the thousands of families whose livelihoods depend on the Gudimalkapur Vegetable and Flower Market.
The AIMIM leaders appealed to the government to consult all stakeholders before taking any final decision on the proposed relocation.
