General Upendra Dwivedi Honours Veterans With Achievers Awards At Secunderabad Cantonment

Secunderabad, Mar 26, 2025: In a solemn and prestigious ceremony at Secunderabad Cantonment, General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), conferred the Veterans Achievers Award upon four distinguished veterans in recognition of their outstanding contributions to society. The award recipients, Lieutenant Colonel Rajiv Sisaudia (Retd), Major G Shiva Kiran (Retd), Captain Bandi Venu (Retd), and Naik Lingala Jagan Reddy (Retd), have demonstrated exceptional commitment to social service and nation-building beyond their military careers.

Lieutenant Colonel Rajiv Sisaudia (Retd) has dedicated himself to supporting veterans and widows through voluntary services at the ECHS Polyclinic. His contributions to the development of faculty and IT infrastructure in underprivileged schools have made a significant impact. Additionally, his selfless service extends to old age homes and orphanages, where he continues to provide aid and support.

Major G Shiva Kiran (Retd) is the visionary behind Sukuki Exnora NGO, which has transformed waste management in Hyderabad. He has established 50 decentralized Zero Waste Projects and pioneered the Swachh Auto Trolley network—a fleet of 4,500 trolleys serving over 20 lakh households. Recognized as a Swachh Bharat Ambassador by GHMC, his initiatives have set a benchmark in urban waste management and environmental sustainability.

Captain Bandi Venu (Retd) has taken it upon himself to serve the underprivileged by collecting and distributing pre-owned clothes while ensuring one nutritious meal per day for orphanages and old age homes. As an active volunteer at Mathru Foundation, he plays a crucial role in providing shelter and support to blind individuals and the needy.

Naik Lingala Jagan Reddy (Retd) has been a driving force in addressing the challenges faced by Ex-Servicemen. His in-depth analysis and unwavering efforts led him to become a founding member of the National Ex-Servicemen Coordination Committee (NExCC), an organization officially recognized by the Government of India. Due to his hard work and dedication, he has risen to the position of National Chairman of NExCC, where he continues to advocate for the welfare of veterans.

Addressing the event, General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS, lauded the awardees for their tireless contributions, stating, “These veterans exemplify the ethos of selfless service, carrying forward the spirit of the Indian Army into civilian life. Their dedication to social welfare, environmental sustainability, and veteran support serves as an inspiration for all.”

The felicitation ceremony at Secunderabad Cantonment underscored the Army’s deep respect and gratitude for its veterans who continue to serve the nation in extraordinary ways. Their efforts not only uplift society but also reinforce the values of compassion, integrity and commitment instilled in them during their military tenure.
