Hyderabad, April 24 (Maxim News): Telangana state BJP president N Ramchandra Rao has lashed out at the Telangana government for its negligence in the issues of TGSRTC employees. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Friday, he said, “The state government is committing a grave injustice by not completely ignoring the issues of RTC employees. The government has tried to evade its responsibility by delaying the issue of the RTC strike in the name of committees instead of resolving it. The struggle undertaken by the RTC workers for the resolution of their just demands has finally led to a strike, thereby making the situation in the state worrisome.”
The suicide attempts of three RTC workers in the wake of the RTC strike are deeply disturbing. It is especially saddening that driver Kola Shankar Goud, from Muthojipet, Narsampet mandal, Warangal district, who attempted suicide in the wake of the RTC strike, died while undergoing treatment. This tragic situation has arisen because the Congress government has not resolved the demands of the RTC workers and their problems. I express my deep condolences on the death of Shankar Goud. The state government should immediately pay appropriate compensation to his family. It is very unfortunate that the government has not paid attention to the RTC workers even after giving notices in advance. This is a proof of irresponsibility.
Even during the last BRS government, when the workers went on strike demanding the merger of RTC with the government, the Bharatiya Janata Party stood and fought on the side of the workers. Similarly, the non-payment of PRC dues to RTC workers since 2017 and the non-granting of benefits to retired employees clearly show the negligence of the governments. At least now the state government should open its eyes and merge RTC with the government. It is known that such measures have already been implemented in many states of the country. (Maxim News)
