Hyderabad, April 24 (Maxim News) : Talks between Telangana RTC employees’ Joint Action Committee and a team of IAS officers continued for nearly two hours on Thursday after the government invited union leaders for discussions over the ongoing strike.
Sources said the JAC leaders made it clear that there would be no withdrawal of the strike until the government gives clear decisions on major demands.
The meeting assumed significance as the RTC strike entered a crucial phase, affecting transport services and causing inconvenience to commuters across the state.
At the start of the talks, JAC representatives reportedly placed three key demands before the officials and sought immediate resolution.

Union leaders also strongly pressed for ex gratia compensation to the family of deceased RTC driver Shankar Goud, whose death during the agitation triggered emotional reactions among workers.
They reportedly asked the government to announce immediate financial assistance and support measures for the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, the IAS officers urged union leaders to call off the strike and resume duties in the larger public interest.
Officials conveyed that the government was positive about resolving employee issues and would soon make an official announcement on the demands.
However, JAC leaders are understood to have told the officials that verbal assurances alone would not be enough.
They maintained that the strike would continue unless the government issued a formal statement addressing the workers’ concerns.
The ongoing strike has disrupted RTC bus operations in several districts, while alternative transport services remain under pressure.
The outcome of the talks is now being closely watched by employees, passengers and political circles, as a settlement could bring relief to thousands of daily commuters. (Maxim News)
