Govt Bans Sale Of Small Size Flags

Hyderabad, Jan 12 (Maxim News): The Principal Secretary, Protocol, GAD, has informed that Strictly Ban on manufactories, printing , supply, sale and usage of small size National Flag made of paper, plastic or other substances (in relating to the Flag), against the Provision of the Flag of Code of India, 2002 prescribed under this code and as per explanation to section 2 of the prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971.

The Government issued instructions to all the District Collectors & District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, all the Heads of Departments and all the authorities/organizers concerned to identify places where the National Flag is Hoisted and to see to follow the Government instructions scrupulously.

The Principal Secretary said that any deviation of the rules and disrespect to Honour of the National Flag will be viewed seriously and necessary action will be initiated against the concerned, being it is a cognizable offence punishable under Flag Code of India, 2002 and Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971. The Principal Secretary also intimated to create awareness among the general Public about Republic Day Celebrations and use of National Flag. (Maxim News)
