Govt To Bring Free Regulation Act: Private Schools Increase Fees By 20 To 50 Percent

Hyderabad, mAY 3 (Maxim News): There are 11,454 private schools in Telangana state, with 34.83 lakh students studying in them. There is no control over the collection of fees in private and corporate schools. As there is still no clarification on how much fee should be collected in any school, the managements are deciding the fee as they wish. The government had earlier issued GO No. 1 stating how the collected fees should be spent.

The previous BRS government had promised to take steps to control fees and had formed a committee headed by Professor Tirupati Rao.

The government did not disclose the report given by the committee and also left the implementation to the wind, it had promised to take steps to control fees once the Congress came to power in the state. For this, a cabinet subcommittee headed by Minister Sridhar babu was formed. Along with this, the Telangana Education Commission was formed.

After the Education Commission submitted its report to the government, there were reports that the government would soon bring a Fee Regulation Act, With this, many schools have increased their fees by 20 to 50 percent in advance for the year 2025-26.

Currently, depending on the school, they are charging an average of Rs. 30 thousand to Rs. 12 lakh per year. corporate schools, which are charging lakhs for nursery, LKG and UKG education, are not counted. Corporate colleges, in the name of IIT and NEET coaching, are charging Rs. 4 to Rs. 10 lakh for two year Intermediate. (Maxim News)
