Hyderabad: In a bid to showcase the rich heritage of Kakatiya dynasty and the popularisation of Telangana culture, the State government is organising a festival in the name of ‘Kakatiya Vaibhava Sapthaham‘ from July 7 to 13 in Warangal.
To mark the occasion, Municipal and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao unveiled a brochure related to the festival in the presence of his cabinet colleagues Srinivas Goud and Satyavathi Rathod here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister KT Rama Rao said there is a need of highlighting the glory of Kakatiya history and it’s related customs and culture.
He said the Kakatiya kings had constructed a chain tanks for irrigating thousands of acres of land in the region and built many historical monuments to showcase their culture.
The Minister asked the officials to involve all sections of people and political parties in the ensuing festival celebrations and to make the programme a grand success.
Officials were directed to illuminate all the historical places, roads and other important centres and put up hoardings and other display boards in Warangal, popularising the festival.
