Delhi/Hyderabad, July 17 (Maxim News): In the wake of the selection of “Greater Hyderabad” as a top clean city, the Swachh Survekshan Award was received by Municipal Urban Development Secretary Dr. K. Ilambarithi and Commissioner R. V. Karnan from Union Minister Manohar Lal at a national program organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on Thursday.
In the Swachh Survekshan-2024 survey for cities with population over 10 lakhs, Greater Hyderabad ranked 6th nationwide in the “Zero Waste City” category with a 7-star rating.
GHMC also received the Water+ certificate in the Open Defecation Free (ODF) category.
Last year, Greater Hyderabad had achieved 5-star status and ranked 9th, according to GHMC’s press release.
Officials including Sanitation AC Raghu Prasad, Solid Waste Management SE Koteswara Rao, and others participated in the award ceremony. (Maxim News)
