High Court | Hyderabad, Sept. 9: In a significant development, the Telangana High Court has struck down the Group-1 general ranking list and marks list released on March 10.
The court directed the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) to carry out a revaluation in line with the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court in the Sanjay vs. UPSC case.
High Court Quashes Group-1 General Ranking List:
The High Court made it clear that the revaluation process must be completed within eight months. It further observed that if the exercise is not completed within the stipulated timeframe, the mains examination would have to be cancelled.
The ruling comes in response to multiple petitions filed by candidates. While some petitioners alleged irregularities in the evaluation process and sought cancellation of the results, others, who had already been selected, requested the court not to disturb the ongoing recruitment process.
Justice Namavarapu Rajeswara Rao, who heard the arguments on July 7, delivered the verdict. The decision now places responsibility on the TGPSC to ensure that the revaluation process adheres to the Court’s directions while balancing the concerns of all stakeholders.
