The operation was carried out on May 9 within the limits of Panjagutta Police Station as part of the city police’s ongoing anti narcotics drive. During the raid, officials recovered 13.5 grams of MDMA and 7 grams of charas from the accused.
Police identified the arrested drug peddler as Thakur R Keshav Raj Singh, a resident of Secunderabad. The three arrested consumers were identified as Rohan Williams, Ayush Gupta and Lakkireddy Nikhil Anurag.
Accused targeted pub and party circles
According to investigators, the accused initially became addicted to narcotic substances before turning to drug peddling to earn easy money. Police said the accused allegedly supplied MDMA and charas to consumers across Hyderabad, mainly targeting pub culture and party circles.
Officials stated that the accused were involved in distributing narcotic substances to youth in different parts of the city. Police suspect the network may have links to larger drug supply chains operating in Hyderabad.
A case was registered under Crime Number 366/2026 at Panjagutta Police Station under Sections 8(c) read with 22(c), 20(b)(ii)(B) and 27 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is currently underway.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath.
HNEW warns against growing drug abuse among youth
Following the arrests, HNEW appealed to the public, especially parents, to stay alert about the increasing menace of drug abuse among youngsters. Officials urged citizens to share any information related to narcotics activities with Hyderabad Police to help curb drug trafficking in the city.
Police said strict enforcement drives against drug peddlers and consumers would continue across Hyderabad to maintain public safety and prevent narcotics abuse among youth.
