Huge irregularities took place in the sale of cricket tickets: Vishveswar Reddy
Hyderabad, Sept.23 (NSS): BJP leader and former MP Konda Vishveswar Reddy today alleged that a huge amount of irregularities took place in the sale of tickets for Sunday’s cricket match between India and Australia.
He also alleged that the irregularities began with the handing over the contract of the ticket sale to digital payment organization Paytm by HCA president Mohammad Azharuddin. He wondered how 30,000 tickets were sold by Paytm in a span of just 20 minutes. He claimed that state sports minister V. Srinivas Goud intervened in the issue of the ticket sale following a direction from state minister KTR. He alleged that all those involved in the ticket sale made a lot of money by selling the tickets on the black market.
He said that those involved in the ticket sale had committed ticket sale scams like Kaleswaram, phoenix, and liquor scams. He asked the rulers of the state as to how many scams they would commit to waste public money. He demanded the state government as to what kind of role it has in the sale of the tickets. Making it clear that HCA is an autonomous organization, Reddy said that the association sells the tickets as per the directions of BCCI. (NSS)
