Hyderabad, April 22: Hyderabad Metro train frequency has been increased across all corridors to ease commuter movement during the ongoing RTC strike.
Authorities said the move aims to reduce travel inconvenience in the city. The decision was taken by Hyderabad Metro Rail in consultation with L and T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited.
Officials confirmed that 56 trains will now run throughout the day. Earlier, this number was limited to peak hours only.
Hyderabad Metro Train Frequency Increased Across Day
On regular weekdays, Hyderabad Metro train frequency is higher only during peak hours. These hours run from 8 AM to 10:30 AM and 5 PM to 8 PM.
During non peak hours, fewer trains operate with longer gaps. However, due to the RTC strike, the same peak level service will continue all day.
Now, trains will run every 4 minutes 20 seconds on the Miyapur to LB Nagar corridor. Similarly, trains will run every 3 minutes 40 seconds on the Nagole to Raidurg corridor.
Officials also said they are reviewing the option to extend services beyond 11 PM. This step may further help commuters during the strike period.
The RTC strike has disrupted bus services across Hyderabad. Therefore, Hyderabad Metro train frequency has been increased to handle the surge in passenger demand.
