Hyderabad, July 29: The Hyderabad City Police on Tuesday conducted an inter departmental coordination meeting to review security and civic arrangements for the upcoming Bonalu festival and the Ghataala procession in the Charminar Zone.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order, South Zone) Tafseer Iqbal, IPS, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Charminar Zone) Kiran Khare, IPS.
Officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), representatives of the Joint Temple Committee, temple committee members and officials from various government departments participated in the meeting.
The meeting focused on ensuring peaceful celebrations through coordinated planning. Discussions covered law and order, crowd management, traffic regulation, sanitation, power supply, drinking water, fire safety and emergency medical services.
Police officials stressed the need for close coordination among all departments to maintain public safety and ensure smooth conduct of the festival. They also appealed to temple committees, organisers and devotees to cooperate with the police and civic authorities.
GHMC Charminar Zonal Commissioner S. Srinivas Reddy assured that the civic body would provide uninterrupted sanitation, essential municipal services and other basic amenities throughout the festival period.
Officials from participating departments reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the Bonalu festival and the Ghataala procession are conducted peacefully through coordinated efforts.
