Hyderabad Police, Tollywood Legends Unite For Mega Anti-Piracy Fight!

Hyderabad Police recently arrested a piracy gang responsible for causing significant losses to the Telugu film industry over the past few years. Later in the day, the police officials met Tollywood heroes, producers, exhibitors, and digital platform representatives and explained them how piracy operations are being carried out and discussed the measures that need to be implemented to curb the menace.

In the recent investigations it was found that how the piracy gang is using mobiles to record the films in theatres. Also, cybercriminals hacked digital distribution systems long before the release, illegally accessing and copying high-value original studio content. These things were clearly explained to the Tollywood big-wigs.

CP Anand said, “During the investigation, several piracy portals such as Tamil MV, Tail Blasters, and Movierulz, were identified. We also found out how sponsors like online gaming and betting operators were funding or promoting these sites. The pirated files are then distributed through torrent websites, Telegram channels, and illegal streaming platforms. Data from visitors to these sites is often collected and misused for additional cybercrimes such as fraud and digital extortion.”

Tollywood celebs who attended the meeting welcome the initiative and assured their full cooperation. Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Nani, Naga Chaitanya, Ram Pothineni, Suresh Babu, Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman V. Venkata Ramana Reddy (Dil Raju) attended the meeting.
