Hyderabad, July 6 (Maxim News): Strong winds and a sudden dust storm swept across Hyderabad on Monday, uprooting a large tree near the MLAs’ entrance gate of the Telangana Assembly.
Fortunately, no legislators, officials, or visitors were present when the tree collapsed, preventing what could have been a major accident.
The sudden change in weather affected several parts of the city as gusty winds reduced visibility and disrupted normal movement. However, the incident at the Assembly premises drew particular attention because it occurred near one of the busiest entry points used by legislators and senior officials.

Immediately after the incident, Assembly security personnel and Secretariat staff rushed to the spot. They quickly cordoned off the area and launched a clearance operation.
Using heavy equipment and cutting machines, workers removed the fallen tree and its branches. Consequently, they restored the entrance within about an hour. Vehicle movement resumed soon after, ensuring there was no prolonged disruption.
Meanwhile, officials continued monitoring weather conditions as strong winds affected several localities across Hyderabad. Residents have also been advised to remain cautious during sudden weather changes and avoid standing near old trees or unstable structures during high winds.
The incident once again highlighted the need for regular inspection and maintenance of trees in high-security and high-traffic government premises, especially during the monsoon season. (Maxim News)
