Events Leading to the Tragedy

Sushma, who had recently recovered from an illness, went with her father to collect a laptop from her in-laws’ house. There, she was reportedly subjected to insults and harsh words, not only towards herself but also directed at her father over dowry matters. Deeply distressed, she left for work on Wednesday afternoon, but never returned.

Her father, worried after failing to contact her, approached Madhapur police late at night. Early Thursday morning, locals alerted police about a woman’s body in Durgam Cheruvu, which was later identified as Sushma’s.
