ptHyderabad, Sept. 9: A 42 year old woman from Boduppal was allegedly harassed over the repayment of a loan taken through the Vardhan app.
The unidentified callers allegedly claimed that the woman’s relative had borrowed money through the app. They demanded that she repay the loan on the relative’s behalf.
When she refused or failed to make the payment, the callers allegedly sent morphed photographs of her daughter through WhatsApp.
Callers Threaten to Post Morphed Photos Online
The callers allegedly threatened to upload the photographs on social media if the loan amount was not paid.
The woman was reportedly shocked by the threats and harassment. She subsequently approached the police and lodged a complaint.
Based on her complaint, police launched an investigation to identify those behind the calls and WhatsApp messages.
