Hyderabad, Dec.25 (Maxim News): The Institution of Engineers (India) Telangana State Centre here is organizing “34th Indian Engineering Congress” from December 27 to 29 on the eve of centenary celebrations of the “Theme Societal Engineering – Imperatives for National Building” at Cyberabad Convention Centre Pvt. Ltd, Novotel & HICC Complex (near Hitec City) here.
Addressing the media here today, Dr G. Rameshwar Rao, Chairman, IEI, TSC, said the Telangana State Centre of IEI has been asked to organize “34th Indian Engineering Congress” in Hyderabad. Since this is a mega event, being organized on the occasion of centenary celebrations, elaborate arrangements have been made by Telangana State Centre, The program is stretched over three days starting from December 27.
Governor Dr (Smt) Tamilisai Soundararajan will be the chief guest. G. Jagadish Reddy, Energy Minister, Er V. Prashanth Reddy, FIE, Minister for Roads & Buildings, Legislative Affairs & Housing, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and RWS, will be the guests of honour during the three-day session. Bandarju Dattatreya, Governor, Himachal Pradesh, will be the chief guest on the day of valedictory function to be held on December 29.
Dr Rameshwar Rao said some 1,200 delegates , are expected to participate in the event. As part of the event, memorial lectures, visionary talks, presentation of papers by experts in the field of engineering, have been arranged. Besides, 31 exhibition stalls highlighting the achievements of the Telangana State Govt in various fields have been showcased. Notable among them are: Kaleswaram Irrigation Project, Mission Bhagiratha, Hyderabad Metro Project and so on. It is expected that some 50 foreign delegates are expected to participate in the event.
Dr Rao said the Telangana State Centre IEI has been declared as the “Best Centre” amongst 126 centers, spread across the country. He also said Prof. Gong KE, president, WFEO, China, will give visionary talk; Er Narendra Singh, FIE, president-elect, IEI will the special guest; Dr T M Gunaraja, FIE, president, IEI, will preside over the function.
Dr S. Satyanarayana, Chairman, Technical Committee, IEI, TSC & Immediate Past Chairman, explained about the details of papers received by the Technical Committee. He said 85 papers have been received by the Committee, which are under scrutiny.
