IMD-Hyderabad Issues Yellow Alert For Thunderstorms, Lightning Amid Rising Temp

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Hyderabad, forecasting significant rainfall in Telangana in the upcoming days. Hyderabadis may experience some relief from the heat this week as the city is set to encounter thunderstorms. However, residents should also keep their windows closed and step out carefully as dust storms are also forecasted for the city.

Hyderabad Weekly Forecast

The weather forecast for the upcoming week in our region looks quite varied. On May 6, we can expect a partly cloudy sky with temperatures ranging from 29 to 43 degrees Celsius. Moving on to May 7, the sky is still partly cloudy, but there’s a chance of rain, thunderstorms, or even dust storms, with temperatures between 28 to 42 degrees Celsius. May 8 brings a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers, and temperatures ranging from 27 to 40 degrees Celsius. The trend continues into May 9, with a partly cloudy sky and the possibility of rain, thunderstorms, or dust storms, along with temperatures similar to the previous day. Finally, on May 10th and 11, expect partly cloudy skies with the development of thunderstorms, and temperatures ranging from 28 to 39 degrees Celsius. It’s a good idea to stay updated on the weather forecasts and be prepared for any changes in the coming days.

From May 6 to May 7, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected to occur at isolated places across Telangana. Additionally, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets of several districts including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Mahabubnagar. Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat. Moreover, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) may occur at isolated places in various districts of Telangana. These include Nizamabad, Rajanna Sirsilla, Warangal, and Hyderabad. Stay informed and stay safe during these weather conditions.
