Brief Facts:-

The accused Nayini Shyam and his associates, have been addicted to consuming Ganja for several years. Due to insufficient earnings to support their lavish lifestyle, they devised a plan to transport and sell Ganja in Hyderabad. They initially purchased the drug from unknown sources at Dhoolpet, Hyderabad and their operation expanded when Shyam, previously arrested in a similar case in July 2023 at Abdullapurmet PS, decided to engage in Ganja peddling.

After being released on bail, Shyam, along with his childhood friend Kandukuri Chandu, partnered with Bura Rajesh Kumar @ Ramu. They ventured into the drug trade, motivated by the prospect of easy money. Four months ago, the trio contacted Arjun, a supplier from Kurmanoor, Malkangiri, Odisha, and bought 1 kg of Ganja for Rs 3,000. They later repackaged it into smaller 100-gram packets, selling each for Rs 2,000, thus earning substantial profits.

On 31 December 2024, Shyam, Chandu, and Rajesh Kumar traveled from Hayath Nagar to Kurmanoor in Odisha, where they purchased 7 kilograms of dry Ganja from Arjun for Rs 21,000. The Ganja was concealed in three brown-taped packets, which were later brought back to Hyderabad. The packets were stored in Shyam’s house, where they repackaged the drug into 100-gram portions, selling them for Rs 2,000 per packet.

On 9th January 2025, the accused were contacted by local consumers, including Chitram Uday Kumar, Dasaramoni Raghavender, Jogu Varun Kumar, Gudimalla Mahesh, and Mari Akhil Raj, who requested Ganja. They met them near the backside of Zee School, Hayath Nagar, where they sold 5 packets of 100 grams each for Rs 2,000 per packet. As the transaction was underway, police teams swooped in and arrested and recovered the material from their possession.
