Is KCR Gone Back From Contesting In Karnataka Elections?

Hyderabad, March 27 (Maxim News): The National President of the BRS party and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who announced at the time of changing the name of the TRS into BRS will contest the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly Election in alliance with the Janata Dal (Secular) saying that it is “natural ally” as part of the expansion of party at National level, seems, that KCR has gone back and has no plan to field BRS candidates in Karnataka.

Though KCR announced that BRS will contest the local bodies elections in Maharastra, yesterday, he is maintaining silence on contesting the election in Karnataka Assembly elections which is likely to be held in a couple of months.

According to the BRS sources, who describe the Janata Dal (Secular) as a “natural ally”, the BRS has decided to throw its weight fully behind former Prime HD Deve Gowda-led party in the coming Karnataka Assembly elections. Telangana’s governing party was earlier weighing its option of fielding its candidates in some districts bordering Telangana in Kalyana-Karnataka (earlier known as Hyderabad-Karnataka) as part of its strategy to expand nationally, but that plan is no longer on the table now.

The Senior BRS leader said that “JD(S) is our natural ally and we will go with the party. We want to ensure that the JD(S) is successful in the elections”, The sources said BRS party Chief K. Chandrashekar Rao would definitely campaign for JD(S) candidates, particularly in segments where “Telugu Speaking people are densely populated”, The elections are due in May. (Maxim News)
