Krishnastami Festival At ISKCON On Aug 24

Hyderabad,Aug.22 (Maxim News): International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Secunderabad will celebrating Krishna Janmastami on August 24 on a grand scale with participation of International delegates. Poojas and prayers will commence on Saturday morning with Brahma Muhurtha and will conclude with a special Mahabhisekam at midnight, the hour at which Lord Krishna was born.

In a press note here today Dr. Sahadeva Dasa, President, said the day will be also marked by religious processions, bhajans, kirtans and aarti and other cultural events. The theme of this year’s Janmastami festival is World Peace and Enlightenment.

In today’s disturbed atmosphere, this timeless message of Krishna Janmastami and Bhagavad gita is more relevant then ever before, he said.

AT KUKATPALLY

ISKCON Kukatpally is celebrating Sri Krishna Janmastami on August 24 at it’s temple. Lord Krishna appeared on this auspicious night at Mathura. The festivities will commence early morning at 5 a.m. with Mangal Aarati. Addressing media persons here today, Mahashringadasa, President, said Sri Radha Govind devji and Sri Jagannath Baldeva and Subhadra mata will give darsan in special alankars. On this festive occasion, darshan will remain open for whole day.

Prasadam will be served at four counters to facilitate devotees. A very enlightening expo on the life and teachings of His Divine Grace Srila A. C. Bhakti Vedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada is especially arranged on this occasion. His travel to USA and amazing preaching works will also be depicted.

On Sunday 25th August, we will celebrate his Vyas Pooja from 5 to 8.30 p.m. The festival will conclude with Maha Prasadam for all the participants. To increase divine Krishna consciousness, a very colourful Sri Krishna Fancy dress competition is arranged from 3.30.p.m.to 4.30 p.m., and attractive prizes will be given to first 150 participants. Boys and girls from 5 to 12 years can take part. Archana will be performed from 9.a.m.till 8.p.m., darshan is open for all.

Whole day, melodious kirtans, nectarine Prasadam, magnificent dance, purifying darshans and eye opening expo will be available for the guests and ISKCON life members at our Kukatpally Centre, he said. (Maxim News)
