KTR Dares CM Revanth Reddy to Public Debate on Farmers’ Welfare, Gives 72-Hour Deadline

Hyderabad, July 5 (Maxim News): In a bold move, BRS Working President and former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to an open debate on farmers’ welfare. The challenge was issued during a press interaction on Saturday, with KTR demanding that the CM meet him at Somajiguda Press Club on July 8 at 11 AM for a face-to-face discussion.

“I’m giving him 72 hours to prepare. Let’s talk facts—who really delivered for Telangana’s farmers?” KTR asserted, accusing the Congress government of betraying the farming community.

KTR didn’t hold back as he criticized the Congress government for allegedly weakening welfare schemes introduced by the previous BRS administration. “They are giving alms to the annadata (food providers),” he said, accusing the current leadership of reducing the significance of flagship farmer welfare programs like Rythu Bandhu.

He also mocked Revanth Reddy, calling him “PayCM”, a play on the phrase “Paytm CM,” implying questionable governance practices.

Addressing a range of issues, KTR said he was even willing to hold the debate in Kongareddypalli, the CM’s hometown, to prove his point. He further challenged unemployed youth to come to Ashok Nagar for a discussion on job creation, asserting that Congress is taking credit for jobs generated during the BRS tenure.

KTR also hit out at the unfulfilled promises made to women, including the ₹4,000 pension and ₹2,500 monthly assistance, part of the Congress manifesto. He expressed confidence that Congress would fail to win even local body seats like ZPTC in the CM’s own constituency.

“Let Revanth Reddy come with numbers, facts, and his team. I will come alone,” KTR said, as he doubled down on his invitation to debate, a move that has stirred up the political atmosphere ahead of the local body elections.
