Hyderabad, July 16 (Maxim News): A team of officers from the Maharashtra Police Academy, Nashik, began a three day study visit to the RBVRR Telangana Police Academy on Thursday to study best practices in police training and strengthen institutional cooperation.
The visit, which runs from July 16 to July 18, focuses on understanding Telangana’s outdoor training methods, curriculum, and modern training infrastructure.
The delegation, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Gaike, met Telangana Police Academy Director Abhilasha Bisht, IPS, and discussed training models followed by the academy for probationary Deputy Superintendents of Police and Sub Inspectors.
The visiting officers said the study tour aims to understand the academy’s outdoor training curriculum, implementation methods, and training standards. They added that the Maharashtra Police Academy plans to adopt suitable best practices after evaluating the Telangana model.
On the first day, Outdoor Deputy Director Sriramamurthy supervised the programme, while DSP Krishna served as the liaison officer and coordinated visits to various training facilities.
The delegation observed the morning parade and reviewed outdoor training sessions conducted for trainee officers. They examined physical fitness programmes, discipline standards, and drill practices followed by Assistant Drill Instructors and Drill Instructors. Furthermore, the officers studied the academy’s modern safety protocols designed to minimise training related injuries.
The Maharashtra delegation also visited the Dr Hankins Museum, where they reviewed facilities related to criminal investigation, forensic science, forensic medicine, crime scene management, and bomb detection and disposal. The visiting officers appreciated the academy’s practical approach to professional police training.
Later, the delegation visited the academy hospital and interacted with Medical Officer Dr Ramadevi. She explained the health monitoring system followed for trainees from the day they join the academy until the completion of their training. In addition, she briefed the team on medical examinations, health records, and the standard operating procedures adopted to ensure trainee welfare.
The visiting officers also toured the academy’s firing ranges, sports complex, swimming pool, parade grounds, and other training facilities.
They praised the academy’s modern infrastructure, international standard training environment, and experienced outdoor faculty.
The Maharashtra Police Academy team stated that the Telangana Police Academy has developed a comprehensive training model that can serve as a benchmark for police training institutions across India. Moreover, they said the academy’s focus on discipline, physical fitness, technology, and professional development makes it one of the country’s leading police training centres.
The three day visit will continue with detailed interactions on various aspects of police training, allowing the visiting officers to study Telangana’s best practices before considering their implementation in Maharashtra. (Maxim News)
