Hyderabad, Sept. 6: TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud challenged BRS leaders to debate the party’s ten year rule in Telangana.
Speaking at a Congress Mahadharna at Indira Park Dharna Chowk on Sunday, Goud compared the BRS tenure with the Congress government’s first 1,000 days.
He said the Telangana movement was built around water, funds and jobs. He asked BRS leaders to discuss the difference between the two governments.
Goud said the Congress government is focused on welfare and development. He added that the government is also managing the debt incurred during the previous administration.
He said the government is providing welfare schemes across Telangana. He also claimed that poor people are receiving the same quality of rice consumed by wealthy families.
Mahesh Goud Questions KCR and KTR Over Telangana Governance
Goud questioned why the previous government did not issue ration cards despite receiving applications from lakhs of people.
He also criticised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao over his remarks on education. Goud said culture and values are equally important and questioned KTR’s contribution to Telangana.
Goud claimed that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the IT Minister are attracting major investments to Telangana. He also accused KCR of giving government jobs to family members.
He said the Congress government has honoured Telangana activists and cultural figures, including Gaddar and Andesri. He also highlighted statues of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud in Hyderabad.
Goud said the Congress would work with the Centre to conduct a caste census for backward classes. He questioned the role of BJP leaders from the BC communities on the issue.
He also criticised KCR for remaining away from the Assembly and public politics. Goud said the position of Leader of Opposition carries an important responsibility in a democracy.
Goud challenged KCR to attend Assembly sessions and question the government. He said KCR should expose the Congress government’s mistakes instead of staying away.
He also criticised KTR and Harish Rao for their approach to political issues. Goud accused Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy of obstructing Hyderabad’s development.
Goud said the Congress government aims to develop Hyderabad into a city capable of competing globally. He also praised Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan for her integrity.
Goud claimed that BJP and BRS leaders were hoping to return to power. He said Congress would continue to remain in power in Telangana and made a projection extending to 2040.
