minor suicide in Medipally | Hyderabad, Feb. 8: A 17 year old minor boy died by suicide while speaking to his girlfriend on a video call in Medipally, Medchal Malkajgiri district.
The incident occurred on the night of February 5 under the limits of Medipally police station, police said.
The boy was the son of a private employee and lived near the Ayyappa Swamy temple in Boduppal. He was studying at a government ITI college.
At present, he was undergoing practical training at a car showroom in Medipally, according to police officials.
Police said the incident happened when his parents went out shopping on February 5 night. As no one else was at home, the boy made a video call to a girl he was in a relationship with. While speaking to her, he allegedly hanged himself using a chunni tied to a ceiling fan.

During the video call, the girl noticed something was wrong and immediately alerted his friends. Soon after, the friends rushed to the boy’s house.
However, by the time they arrived, he was found hanging. They shifted him without delay to a nearby private hospital.
Doctors admitted the boy and provided treatment. However, he succumbed on Friday, February 6, while undergoing treatment.
Following his death, grief spread across the family and the neighbourhood. Friends and relatives gathered at the house, while parents were seen inconsolable.
Based on a complaint filed by the boy’s father, Medipally police registered a case.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the suicide. Officers are examining whether the incident was linked to a love relationship or if other factors played a role.
Police said further inquiry is underway to establish the exact reason behind the minor’s death.
