No Ex Gratia To Slain Auto Driver, TADJAC Calls For Bandh On June 25
Hyderabad, June 11(Maxim News): Telangana Auto Drivers’ JAC has given a Statewide Auto Bandh call for June 25 in protest against the State government’s inaction in providing ex gratia to the slain Auto Driver Sainath’s family and demanded that KCR like his AP counterpart announce Rs 10,000 financial assistance to every Auto driver and take steps to enforce prohibition in the State.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, TADJAC convener Mohd Amanullah Khan alleged that Chief Minister KCR has done nothing for the Telangana Auto Drivers except exempting Rs 500 Motor Vehicle Tax every year. On the other hand, the AP CM has announced Rs 10,000 to every Auto for obtaining third party insurance and for auto repair expenses. “We also support the AP CM’s will and courage for initiating necessary measures towards enforcing total prohibition”. He also alleged that at the time of the recent Assembly polls, not a single demand of the auto drivers was mentioned in the TRS manifesto and the government was showing step-motherly treatment to the Auto Drivers in the State.
He said that when the TRS came into power the third party auto insurance charges were just Rs. 3000 and the same have now been heavily increased to Rs. 7000. “We requested the Chief Minister to help the auto drivers financially as they are unable to pay the auto insurance charges every year. He demanded that the Chief Minister apologize to the auto drivers publicly for not increasing Auto fares for the last five-and-a-half years and for “crushing” them economically.
He also demanded that the TRS government increase the auto fares on par with the neighboring State without delay. He demanded immediate arrest of the Ola and Uber Cab Managements for looting the traveling public in the name of “surge pricing” and for indulging in illegal activities like fixing the Cab fares by themselves and thereby running a parallel government. He alleged that KTR is hand-in-glove with the Ola & Uber Cab managements illegal activities. He also warned the State government that if the Auto Drivers’ reasonable issues are not settled by the government, they will be forced to intensify their agitation. He appealed to all the auto drives and unions in the State to participate in the Statewide Auto Bandh on June 25 and make it a success.
