No Need For Three Capitals In AP, But All Should Respect Legislature Decision: Diwakar

Amaravati, Jan.22 (Maxim News): senior TDP leader J C Diwakar Reddy on Wednesday said there was no need to set up three capitals for the State. He, however, said all should respect the decision of the State legislature on the issue.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Diwakar Reddy said the Union government and the courts were there to take a final call on such a sensitive issue. He claimed that the Centre adopted wait-and-watch mood on the decision of Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also opined that three capitals cannot be set up so easily in the State as being stated by the Chief Minister.

The former minister said several people bought land in and around Amaravati after the statement of formation of the State capital was made by the then State government. Commenting on the issue of judicial capital in the Rayalaseema region, Diwakar said establishment of High Court would not help in the development of the Rayalaseema region. He said there was a need to set up an industry like Kia in all the districts of the State for their development. (Maxim News)
