No Water Problem For Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao

Hyderabad, July 17 (Maxim News): TRS working president and former minister KT Rama Rao today said there will be no water shortage to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

In his twitter, KTR said the TRS government was taking all steps to ensure that the people of the capital city get waters for drinking without any problem. The Kaleshwaram project was nationalized by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and water was being coming downstream and would cater to Hyderabad drinking water needs. The Annaram barrage has abundant flood waters coming from Pranahitha and being lifted from Medigadda barrage and Kannepally pump house.

Stating that Medigadda barrage received 7.50 tmc and Annaram barrage 5 tmc waters by Tuesday evening, KTR expressed happiness on this. Lifting of waters from Kannepally pump house was going on and the officials succeeded in procuring 11 tmc waters from Pranahitha flood waters in 10 days using five motors despite rainfall shortage. “Though Godavari river has low level of waters, we could impound 11 tmc waters, which can irrigate one lakh acres”, he said. By starting all the motors, all the parched lands could be brought under irrigation, KTR said.

The TRS working president said that within three years after Kaleshwaram project was launched, this could be attributed to the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he added. KTR reiterated that Kaleshwaram project will supply abundant waters to Hyderabad city. Though Chennai and other metro cities in the country were facing water problems, Hyderabad has no such chance, he felt. “We are able to see that Hyderabad does not face Chennai-like water problems, he added.
