‘Numaish’ To Start From Jan 1

Hyderabad, Dec.29 (Maxim News): The 79th All India Industrial Exhibition, popularly known as ‘Numaish’, is slated to be inaugurated here on January 1, by the Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali.

Exhibition Society President and former Minister Etela Rajender, announced this at a media meet today. This year, about 2,500 stalls have been allotted to various exhibitors, including the State and Central Government Departments, Public Sector undertakings, Corporates and Multinational Companies. The Exhibition was started in 1938 to promote industrial development in the erstwhile Hyderabad state, to promote products manufactured by small and medium scale industries within the country, with an objective to promote social, economic and industrial environment in the state in particular and in the country in general. Since the, the event is being held every year.

The earnings from this exhibition are utilized to support the 18 educational institutions started by the Exhibition Society. Rajender said that to encourage budding artists and enhance their skills, competitions in artisan events will be conducted and prizes would be given to the winners, as in the past years.

One welcome feature this year is that the Exhibition grounds is connected by Hyderabad Metro Rail from Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally metro stations on Miyapur to LB Nagar line. HMR has agreed to run extra metro trains with increased frequency for the convenience of the visitors to the Exhibition up to 11.30 pm Special counters are arranged in the Exhibition Grounds near all the three gates for purchasing metro train tickets.

The Exhibition Society, in collaboration with Yashoda Hospitals is offering health services at affordable rates at the medical check-up centre put up during the exhibition. Signages are being displayed at important locations indicating directions to various facilities and shopping areas. Safe drinking water arrangements have been made at various places in the exhibition grounds for the convenience of the visitors, he added. (Maxim News)
