Hyderabad, July 15 (Maxim News): The Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project is likely to receive a major boost soon, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said on Tuesday. He stated that the state government is working to secure approvals from the Central Government and the Andhra Pradesh Government for the utilisation of 90 TMC of water under the project. Moreover, he said discussions are also progressing on the allocation of 30 TMC of water for the Dindi Project.
The Chief Minister made the announcement after inaugurating the Customer Qualification Plant (CQP) established by the Amara Raja Group at its Giga Corridor in Divitipalli, Mahabubnagar district.
Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy said the Telangana government is holding talks with the neighbouring state to resolve pending issues related to irrigation projects in the Krishna river basin. These include the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project, Dindi, Kalwakurthy, Bhima Nettempadu, Koilsagar, and the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS).
Furthermore, the Chief Minister said the government is committed to obtaining all necessary clearances for these projects. He added that completing them will improve irrigation facilities and support agricultural growth across Mahabubnagar district.
“I belong to Palamuru, and I will take responsibility for transforming this backward district into a model district,” the Chief Minister said. He also appealed to people to support the government’s development initiatives.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy highlighted the government’s efforts to improve education and infrastructure in the region. He said Telangana has sanctioned IIIT campuses, engineering colleges, Young India Integrated Residential Schools, and Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) in every Assembly constituency of the district. Therefore, he said the government aims to create better educational and employment opportunities for local youth.
The Chief Minister also outlined Telangana’s industrial growth strategy. He said the government has refined investment policies while retaining measures that serve public interest. In addition, he said Telangana has introduced new policies for tourism, energy, healthcare, and sports under the Telangana Rising 2047 vision to attract global investments.
Speaking about industrial development, Revanth Reddy thanked farmers who provided land for industries in Mahabubnagar. He urged industries to offer maximum employment opportunities to local youth. Moreover, he asked companies to build long term relationships with local communities.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of electric mobility in reducing pollution. He said rapid climate change and the impact of El Niño have increased challenges for farmers. Therefore, he said India must encourage the use of electric vehicles to reduce emissions and promote sustainable development.
He welcomed the establishment of Amara Raja’s 32 GWh battery manufacturing facility, saying it will strengthen India’s electric vehicle ecosystem. He also appreciated the company’s focus on women’s employment, noting that 400 of its 700 employees at the facility are women.
Furthermore, Revanth Reddy praised the Amara Raja Group for expanding its operations to Telangana after nearly four decades of growth in Andhra Pradesh. He described the company as a globally competitive manufacturer that competes with firms in China, Japan, Germany, and South Korea in advanced battery technology.
The Chief Minister said China currently dominates the global electric vehicle supply chain. However, he added that companies like Amara Raja can help India become more self reliant in electric vehicle components and battery manufacturing. Therefore, he urged continued support for domestic manufacturers that compete in global markets.
Ministers D. Sridhar Babu, Jupally Krishna Rao, and Vakiti Srihari, along with Amara Raja Group Chairman Jayadev Galla, Member of Parliament DK Aruna, senior public representatives, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, and government officials attended the event. (Maxim News)
