Parliamentary panel to meet tech firms representatives today

New Delhi, July 21: The Parliamentary Panel on Finance will meet with representatives of tech companies on Thursday over concerns about anti-competition. According to the Lok Sabha notification, there will be a hearing of opinions from associations and industry stakeholders on the topic of “Anti-Competitive Practices by Big-Tech Companies.”

The meeting is at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, which has been looking at various facets of market competition, particularly with regard to technology giants, will be led by BJP leader and former Union minister Jayant Sinha.

Eight tech companies, including Swiggy, Zomato, Flipkart, Ola, Oyo, MakeMyTrip, and All India Gaming Association, are anticipated to make an appearance.
