Patancheru Chemical Factory Blast: CM Revanth Orders Rescue, Labour Minister Vivek to Visit Site
Hyderabad, June 30, 2025 (Maxim News): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed deep grief over the tragic explosion at a chemical factory in Patancheru, Sangareddy district, which has so far claimed the lives of six workers and injured dozens more.
The incident occurred early Monday morning at Sigachi Chemical Factory in the Pashamylaram Industrial SEZ. A reactor explosion triggered a massive fire and led to the collapse of the administration building, trapping several workers under the debris.
CM Revanth Responds Swiftly
CM Revanth Reddy immediately instructed officials to expedite rescue operations and ensure top-notch medical treatment for the injured. “All efforts must be made to save those still trapped,” he stated.
He also extended condolences to the families of the deceased and promised government support.
Ministers Monitor Situation on Ground
Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha reached the incident site to monitor the ongoing rescue and relief efforts. Meanwhile, Labour Minister Vivek Venkataswamy is expected to arrive shortly to assess the situation and coordinate with emergency personnel.
Rescue Operations Underway
Authorities confirmed that six workers were burnt alive, while over 30 others sustained serious injuries. Among them, 20 are being treated at Chandanagar Government Hospital and 16 at Isnapur Government Hospital.
The force of the explosion was so intense that it reduced parts of the factory’s infrastructure to rubble. Eyewitnesses report that only six workers managed to escape from the building post-blast, raising fears that more are still trapped beneath the debris.
Fire tenders, NDRF teams, and local police are actively involved in rescue operations. Heavy machinery has been deployed to clear the rubble and retrieve possible survivors.
Industrial Safety Concerns Raised
The Patancheru blast has once again brought attention to industrial safety protocols in Telangana’s chemical manufacturing zones. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the reactor explosion and whether safety norms were violated.
