People Want To Hand Over T State To ‘Razakars’ Again?: Amith Shah

Hyderabad, Sept.15 (Maxim News): BJP President Amit Shah accused TRS President and Caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of practicing “politics of appeasement” by his close proximity and understanding with AIMIM and asked whether the people of Telangana want to hand over the state to “Razakars” again by electing the TRS in the ensuing elections.

The BJP national President, who arrived here today to kick-start his party’s election campaign was addressing the media, criticised KCR for advancing the elections in the state for “selfish political gains”. Asserting that BJP was against “politics of appeasement” and “vote bank politics” as was being witnessed in the State, he reminded that the new state was formed on the slogan of “self-respect” of people of Telangana. But the TRS regime had given a go by to celebrate September 17 as Hyderabad Liberation Day to placate the Owaisis, he quipped.

Amit Shah asked is this how the self respect of Telangana was being protected and wondered whether the people of the state want a Razakar rule again. Having seen KCR administration of the state during the last four and half years, he was doubtful about TRS coming back to power again. In fact where was the need for KCR to advance the elections in the state when it could be clubbed with the Lok Sabha polls in nine months from now, he observed.

Reminding that KCR was the first to support the BJP Government at the Centre for the proposal of holding joint polls, Amit Shah said KCR suddenly made a U turn and advanced the poll for his own family benefits and thus forced a heavy expenditure on the state.

He also ridiculed the Congress for trying to come back to power in the state by forging an alliance with CPI and TDP. One cannot forget the manner in which the Congress bosses had humiliated late Chief Minister T. Anjaiah and also shabby treatment meted out to late Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao after his death. The same Congress has divided the Andhra Pradesh without any foresight and in a proper scientific manner and thus subjecting the new state to numerous problems, he said and reminded how the three new states created during Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapayee were progressing well.

The BJP then reminded the people of Telangana as to how KCR and his TRS administration had failed on various fronts by not implementing the promises made before the formation of the state like jobs for the unemployed youth, double-bedrooms for the poor, making Osmania and Gandhi Hospitals world class medical institutions. How can a Chief Minister stop going to Secretariat on sentiments and superstitious beliefs, he wondered and charged that KCR tried to rule the state with “populist schemes” and failed in his administrative responsibilities.

Amit Shah also remined the people as to how the farmers in Khammam were arrested and chained for demanding minimum prices for their crops and how Dalits in Sircilla were tortured for opposing the sand mafia. Besides he alleged that many progressive and welfare programmes launched by the Narednra Modi Government for the poor, backward classes and farmers were being either not implemented or put in clod storage. He also reminded that under the 13th Finance Commission during the Congress regime, Telangana received Rs.16,597 crores while under the 14th Finance Commission during the present BJP regime , the state had received Rs.2.3 lakh crores.

The BJP President assured the people of Telangana that the BJP was committed for the welfare of people from village-level and development of and progress of the state on all fronts and sought their support and cooperation in strengthening the hands of BJP.

Amit Shah declared that BJP would contest all the seats in the state on its own and there was no question of any understanding or alliance with any party. He also rubbished the talk that TRS was having a tacit understanding with the BJP. (Maxim News)
