Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 5 (Maxim News): The Supreme Court today heard the petitions filed against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Central Election Commission and the Central Government in the matter of the pills. There are allegations that CEC Gyanesh Kumar took 14 decisions between October 2025 and August 2026 without the permission of Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi. A PIL was filed in the Supreme Court on those allegations.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V Mohan responded by asking Gyanesh, Sandhu, Joshi, ED Director General Seema Khanna and Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Manesh Garg to give an explanation on the pills. Rakesh Kumar Singh and Shailendra Mani Tripathi alleged in their pills that CEC Gyanesh took decisions, changed guidelines and made changes in the software without the permission of Sandhu and Joshi.

The Supreme Court has rejected the plea of senior advocate Vikas Singh seeking stay on the functioning of the CEC. The Supreme Court has said that no order can be passed without a statement from the Election Commission based solely on news reports. The court also said that the CEC cannot be stopped from functioning. There are allegations that voters were deleted illegally during the election. (Maxim News)
