Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off India’s first hydrogen-powered train from Jind, Haryana, on July 17, marking a major milestone in the country’s green transportation initiative.
Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday reviewed the preparations at Jind and directed officials to ensure flawless arrangements for the event.
Hydrogen Train to Run Between Jind and Sonipat
The hydrogen-powered train will operate between Jind and Sonipat, making Haryana the launch pad for India’s first such eco-friendly rail service.
Chief Minister Saini described the project as a landmark achievement for both Haryana and the nation, stating that it reflects India’s commitment to sustainable and clean transportation.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development projects worth several crores of rupees across different districts of Haryana.
CM Reviews Preparations
The Chief Minister inspected Eklavya Stadium, where the main event will be held, and reviewed arrangements related to the main venue, sector-wise seating, parking facilities, media lounge, security, and other logistical preparations.
He instructed officials to complete all pending works within the stipulated timeline and ensure that visitors face no inconvenience during the Prime Minister’s visit.
Traffic and Security in Focus
Following the inspection, Saini chaired a review meeting with ministers, public representatives, and senior officials at the PWD Rest House.
The discussions focused on traffic management, parking facilities, deployment of CNG buses and electric vehicles, visitor movement, and security arrangements.
The Chief Minister directed all departments to work in close coordination and maintain continuous monitoring of security, traffic, and parking to ensure the successful conduct of the Prime Minister’s programme.
He said Prime Minister Modi’s visit is a matter of pride for Haryana and stressed that coordinated efforts by the administration, public representatives, and party workers would make the event historic.
